This walk begins on the ‘esplanade de l’abeille’. This diverse hike allows you to discover the ‘bois des manant’ whose name comes from the 17th century. A time when the inhabitants of the surroundings were in a conflict with Saint Lambert’s chapter, the owner of Tilff’s forest. During this hike you will discover dolines, ground depression more or less circular resulting from erosion by water from the limestone subsoil, as well as the “chantoires”, the two points of view on the Ourthes’s valley (Auguste Donnay and boubou), and the vegetation linked to the site’s geology. You will take the way home passing by Méry. You will discover the ruins of the iron exploitation and of the lime furnaces, as well as the old district of the boatman along the fisherman docks. The hike is a loop that brings you back to the right side of the Ourthe.
